Licensed cosmetologists provide a variety of personal services that help clients look and feel their best. These services primarily include the care and treatment of hair, nails, and skin. They can also involve consultations on health and wellness. A successful licensed cosmetologist is creating an experience for the client that he or she will enjoy and want to repeat. About the Program
The Cosmetology Program is a 1200 hour program that consists of academic (theory) and practical application. Students are taught through class room lecture, demonstration and hands on training in a clinic setting, where they practice skills on mannequins and clients. Beginning students are taught the basics and are not allowed practice on clients until they have mastered the basics skills to move on to the next level. Students are tested at the end of each subject and are expected to pass with at least 80% test score.

The Cosmetology Program objective is to provide the students with the necessary education and training to meet the competencies for examination required by the Florida State Board of Cosmetology. The students are equipped with a variety of skills to begin a career in Cosmetology or related industry, including business skills, customer service, retailing, communications, and entrepreneurship.
