Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III and the American Rescue Plan
Shear Finesse Beauty Academy students may be eligible to receive up to $2500 as defined below through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds III (HEERF III). The emergency grants require no repayment.
In distributing these funds, Shear Finesse Beauty Academy will follow, the instructions and guidance provided by the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, and the Certification and Agreement completed by the School. That guidance provides institutions with discretion to develop their own systems and processes for determining how to allocate these funds, subject to certain limitations on student eligibility and expense eligibility.
To be eligible, student must: Must be or have been enrolled at Shear Finesse Beauty Academy
on or after March 13, 2020.
Unlike with previous emergency student financial aid grants through the CARES Act, students do not need to be Title IV eligible to receive HEERF III grants. Additionally, undocumented and international students may receive HEERF III grants. This includes refugees, asylum seekers, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) recipients, DREAMers, and similar undocumented students.
Exceptional need: Under the American Rescue Plan, the school is required to prioritize students with exceptional need. Students with exceptional needs (as defined below) are eligible to receive a grants. All amounts awarded will consider the student’s contracted hours to be enrolled as follows.
In accordance with issued guidance, Shear Finesse Beauty Academy defines “students with exceptional need” as:
Emergency financial aid grants may be used by students for any component of their cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to the coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or child care. Students must certify that they have eligible expenses in the amount of the grant they receive. Students determine how they may use their emergency financial aid grant within the allowable uses.
How to Apply: All students were provided written notice and instructions regarding the grant and how to apply. The application must be returned to the financial aid office as soon as possible. The applications will be processed by the date received and until all funds are exhausted. You will receive an email outlining your determination within 2 days from the date submitted. - Undergraduate students who Completed a FAFSA for 20/21 and 21/22 and received an EFC (expected family contribution between 0-5700)
- All others, Additional information is requested from those students who have not completed a FAFSA (ex: proof of federal benefits such as unemployment, SNAP etc). HEERF III funds are to be used for unexpected expenses arising from the COVID 19 pandemic as well as any aspect of the Cost of Attendance.
